To the generation that values validation far too highly
I’m enrolled in the incredibly well-known class Writing 101 this term. I had heard horror stories before entering each significant project odyssey. It’s a lesson that, I have to admit, I don’t particularly enjoy. However, the second big assignment got me thinking; it required us to develop a research question based on an interest-related topic of odyssey.
I watched a fascinating documentary on Netflix two weeks ago. One of my friends suggested I read Miss Representation, and I have to say the subject is fascinating. Female Body Image and Social Media.odyssey social media influences females to see an unattainable standard of beauty that doesn’t exist. Social media impacts a variety of things, not just female body image.
Odyssey made me consider my use of social media. Because I want to be able to stay in touch with friends who live in distant states, but if I wanted to contact them, couldn’t I SMS them? odyssey could. Do Likes and Followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter serve any meaningful purpose? They don’t, though. Why is it suddenly hard for me to go a day without checking my Facebook, yet I was able to survive without social media for 13 years? It makes me sad. What am I hoping to accomplish by sharing an Instagram photo? All I can see is my classmates supporting odyssey. But social media only ever makes me feel horrible. Social media does that, but few individuals will admit it. If an image you submit doesn’t receive 100 likes after you post it, you can delete it. It’s completely absurd by odyssey.
Why do we require others’ approval to love ourselves? The only person you are stuck with in the end is yourself. Not your Facebook pals or Instagram followers. odyssey giving everything some thought, I took the “bold” choice. I temporarily removed Facebook and Instagram from my phone. Let’s face it, I’m not ready for it yet, so not my account. I realized that I didn’t miss anything other than the apps. Although I wouldn’t say I liked a few posts, those authors won’t miss my approval.
odyssey did learn that social media won’t matter in a relationship if someone genuinely cares about you. They’ll get in touch with you and remain in touch. Since social media has no actual purpose in life, they will call you if they miss you. Yes, uploading a cute photo to Instagram is entertaining, but what good does that do for you? Not at all, no. Social media shouldn’t determine your value as a person.
In the end, neither Instagram nor Facebook will serve as a lasting memory for you. odyssey character, how you interact with others, and how you conducted yourself in person—not in an Instagram post—will be what people remember about you. odyssey make social media, it is simple to give a misleading impression of who you are. Due to this, I wouldn’t say I like social media. Odyssey great for staying in touch with pals I don’t get to see every day. But genuinely, I wouldn’t say I like those who find their life’s work in gaining followers and likes. Life is more than accumulating more than 300 likes or 1,000 Instagram followers. Yes, it might feel good at the time. However, in the long run, it is irrelevant.
I long for the days when people put effort into things—when you had to look for someone to talk to, write a letter to someone you love, or send them a photo to demonstrate why they are essential in your life. odyssey yearns for the days when face-to-face communication meant more. Back when social media wasn’t as important. When someone truly enjoyed themselves for the delight of doing so rather than just posting about it on social media.
I try to remember that there is more to life than how many likes or followers I have on social media since it may be addictive. Interacting with people is a very intriguing concept. Face-to-face interactions, avoiding phone use and getting to know individuals through fundamental interactions rather than social media or text messages.
Odyssey yearns for interaction, for deep exchanges with those who matter to them and me. Social media is not as valuable to real people as genuine friendships, relationships, emotions, authentic experiences, and real life.odyssey don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram, Selena Gomez said at the American Music Awards. She patted her heart and said, “odyssey wants to see what’s in here. “I’m not looking for approval, and I do not need it anymore… And if there’s anything you should know about me, whether you appreciate me or not, I’m a people person.
Don’t be the type of person who meets up with someone to check on them to see how they are doing instead of texting them or liking their Instagram post to express how much you care. The next time you see them, smile at them. Be kind and kind; avoid being petty and shallow. Being naive won’t help you in any way. Don’t be passive-aggressive towards someone on social media; express your feelings instead. Respect others and act like an adult. Being human and experiencing emotions is fine. Be careful not to be the type of person who values and has more confidence in Instagram than in oneself.
